Dear Career Professional,

Most of us get into the career business for the THRILL of helping OTHERS succeed... What about helping YOURSELF to succeed?

Isn't it time you were recognized and paid well for who you are?. . .
Isn't it time to experience the great joy and rewards
-- financial and personal --
of the success which follows that recognition?

Let me introduce you to the team that can make that desire come true.

The star of the team is YOU, and I am the other half. . .

think of me as your personal, professional OnStar for you and your business.

I've noticed some really excellent and talented people who've earned the credentials and skills to be career coaches, but they run up against obstacles trying to reach their goals. Here's some examples of people... see if you fit any of these categories:

A) You have taken classes and seminars toward this goal,
...but your practice isn't as full or thriving as you'd like
B) You are seeing some clients privately in your own practice,
...but not enough to make it a full time income.
C) You've been thinking, planning, trying some things,
...but you can't seem to really get going and make your practice happen.
D) You have a resume-writing business, and you'd like to do more career coaching
...but you don't know how to turn a "confused resume prospect" into a career coaching client.
E) You work for a school, or government, or military, and you'd like to see a few clients privately,
...but you don't know how to find clients and/or package and price your services
F) You're in private practice and earning good income,
...but you're isolated; you know you'd succeed more if you had coaching and contact with peers
G) You're in ANY scenario where you'd like your practice to grow,
...but you find yourself stuck in some of the day to day decisions
...you're not 100% sure you're working on the right tasks

Whatever the challenges you've encountered, and whether you aim at full- or part-time private practice, you'd like that “final piece” - a practical plan and support that will guarantee your success.

I am proud to announce The Chapman Private Practice Alliance.

The Chapman Private Practice Alliance (CPPA) is an ongoing personal support and training program that pays for itself with more clients and more satisfaction. CPPA delivers the day-by-day, problem-by-problem support, brainstorming, solutions, and accountability which are crucial to success.

I am confident that every person, without exception, who joins CPPA and participates in the
program will make more money and feel better about his/her career coaching.

No matter how big or small (or non-existent) your practice is right now, as long as you would like to get more skilled and grow your practice, then read on about CPPA.

Note: This is for career advisors who wish to build their practice working with individuals. It is not designed for people who want to generate corporate business.

The following TEN pages cover these ten points:
o Comparison: You'll never be "left on your own" to figure it out; you get ongoing support.
o Levels: No matter what level your skills and goals are... you're guaranteed to reach the next one
o Five primary ways the Alliance builds your practice
o Examples: see how even small details will make thousands of dollars of difference.
o Fundamentals Seminars: Never get "off track" again with these basics under your belt.
o Materials: deepen your training at your own pace with these materials.
o Trainings you'll participate in so you never get stuck, stalled, confused.
o My background and the story of how I came to start the Alliance
o Testimonial stories from people who've worked with me.
o Pricing and Charter Membership (I hope I'm making it irresistable to join.)

If you have any questions at any time, call Jack at 847-251-4727. You can skip to the end to the registration form at any time.

ONE-TIME PROGRAMS VS. ONGOING SUPPORT

Let me begin with personal experience. Many times I asked for directions from strangers. The helpful person rattles off right turns, landmarks, blocks, miles, etc. and I set off thinking I'm all set. Then a few blocks later I'm disoriented and lost again. That's what it's like, sometimes, when we take a course in being in private practice. It all makes sense in the workshop, but it gets confusing again when we try to implement it day by day.

State-of-the-art technology has virtually eliminated the travel-directions problem. Nowadays an electronic map and an informed computer voice guides you all the way, with ample maneuvering time. “Turn left, 500 feet.”

CPPA is like a private practice OnStar.

That's the level of support and training we all need when we pull away from the curbside of our familiar work patterns to start or grow a business. A multitude of small but specific decisions make the difference between success and failure.

CPPA group support and individual training that tailors personal guidance throughout the entire practice-building process so you arrive at your destination without the disorientation of wrong turns. We want you to help more people, make more money, and feel better about your coaching capabilities.

HELP FOR MANY LEVELS OF PRIVATE PRACTITIONERS

I have identified five levels of career practice professionals who can benefit from membership in CPPA.

o Small. If you're an “occasional client on the side” coach, taking a client here and there, and you earn, let's say, $400 extra month. By participating in the Alliance, you can earn $800 or more a month with no significant change in work time.
o Part Time. If you're part-time earning, say $1000 - $1500 a month, The Private Practice Alliance will show you how to earn $3000 or more with little or no extra time and effort.
o Full time. If you're full-time, you can hit the $80,000 - $120,000 income mark.
o Expanding Resume Writer. If you're a resume writer and want to upgrade your services to include career coaching, CPPA can assist in increasing your skills and income.

It's all predicated on acquired competence in three key building blocks of private practice that add up to an assured formula for success:

Marketing + Sales + State of the Art Services = A Thriving Practice

Thriving financially carries an inner bonus: more satisfaction and enjoyment of your work.

HOW CPPA WORKS TO BUILD YOUR BUSINESS

Members get problem solving and support five ways:
1) Printed materials and recordings
2) Your Mastermind Teammates
3) Your Team Facilitator who is accomplished in private practice
4) A series of Fundamentals Seminars (teleconference)
5) Master Seminars focused on your needs and goals (teleconference)

Twice a month you will meet with your Mastermind Team. Each Team has 3-5 advisors with similar goals and skill levels to yours. With your Team Facilitator's help, you set your goals, explore both inner and outer obstacles, and identify achievable ways to overcome any barriers to success. Your Team provides accountability, motivation, and training to excel in your practice as you implement your targeted and specific plans for growing your practice.

You know the power of this, of course, from school and your work with clients. Having a coach/teacher ensures better progress as you reap Team benefits. Simply put, it works.

CPPA makes this singularly high powered training available to career advisors at a fraction of the cost of comparable coaching/training. It can more than pay for itself in what I call Extra Client Units (ECUs). Let me give you a dollars-and-cents example of what I mean by this.

Let's say that each client you see pays a conservative average of $75 an hour. Let's say that you spend, on average, 13 hours* with each client in his/her job and career coaching. This would make your income from each new client roughly $1000. So anything that is responsible for bringing you one more client (ECU) than you'd have had on your own is worth an extra $1000/year or more.

A DOZEN EXAMPLES OF CPPA HELPFUL DETAILS

This section presents twelve examples of how many ways small things can make the difference in generating ECUs at a minimum of $1000 each. These practical techniques are taken from CPPA's manual, How to Make $150,000 in Private Practice Career Consulting … and Still be a Decent Human Being.

Example 1- How to pick a niche and build a referral base from it (Chapter 2)

Example 2 - How to write a true business-generating newsletter (Chapter 3)

Example 3 - How to sell even if you get a “no,” and have your prospect thank you (Chapter 6)

Example 4 - How to counsel, instead of sell, toward your maximum client load (Chapter 7)

Example 5 - How to structure fees so your income increases commensurate with your professional skills improvement (Chapter 8)

Example 6 - Why most advertising doesn't work-and instead, how to avoid wasting hundreds of dollars and do what works (Chapter 13)

Example 7 - How to use client testimonials to engage new business (Chapter 14)

Example 8 - How to collect client payments on a regular, hassle-free basis (Chapter 23)

Example 9 - How to “fail” in meeting all job-search expectations and still have your client be happy to pay you your fees (Chapter 57)

Example 10 - How to leverage a prospect's request for references (Chapter 67)

Example 11 - How to show your [U.S.] clients that Uncle Sam will pay for a big chunk of your fees so working with you becomes 100% affordable (Chapter 70)

Example 12 - As mentioned above, peer to peer support will let you “catch the one who (would have) got away.” By conferring with your Mastermind Team, you'll devise the exact correct approach to bring that new client in.

The CPPA Manual is packed with practical tools designed to bring in more clients. The time-tested information is useful and easily applied. Each chapter can help you find, close, and counsel an ECU per year. With 71 chapters, that's $71,000 worth of value!

FUNDAMENTALS SEMINARS AS OFTEN AS YOU NEED

In addition to the Manual, I personally conduct all intensive CPPA teleconference seminars. In effect, the seminars personally customize the Manual to your abilities and needs through role-play and teaching so you master skills and methods. These are the kinds of things you don't learn all at once, so repeat seminars are available at no additional cost. You can reinforce and deepen your professional repertoire, and hone those skills in your Mastermind Team, too.

Seminar I: Structuring Payments
Learn how to get paid monthly instead of hourly, so you'll never worry about losing money because of cancellations.

Seminar II: Appointment Setting
When a prospect asks you, “What are your services and how much do they cost?” do you find yourself answering? An immediate response to that question may cost you a client. We'll teach and practice with you so you'll close almost every person who calls you for career help.

Seminar III: The CAP™ Session
I developed this ingenious cornerstone of a thriving practice as a way to do satisfying work and get paid whether or not the prospect ever becomes a full client. Once a client comes in or calls for a “sales session” you will have a 3-part strategy to gain their confidence, pinpoint their problems and needs, and give them a personalized proposal on how to solve them. You will counsel, not “sell” them, in an approach that delivers value to them and adds professional income to you.

Seminar IV: Getting Clients Into The Hidden Job Market
We all preach “network, network, network,” but unless you know the three prerequisites for networking, your clients will stay mired answering internet ads. This class gives you the power to assure that your clients network, and network well. This makes for satisfied clients, more lucrative coaching, and increased referrals.

Seminar V: Filling Your Practice
Becoming visible and credible as a topflight career advisor results in filling your practice to capacity. In order to do that, you'll give speeches and trainings to groups. This seminar identifies speaking venues, teaches how to capture business otherwise left behind after speaking, and directs you to turn-key (ready to deliver) speech presentations.

As we define other important elements that need repeat trainings, we'll add appropriate seminars. The goal of CPPA is to give you what it takes-the information, practice, understanding, and skills-to succeed and thrive in private practice at the level that's right for you.

I am confident CPPA will deliver as promised because I've done it with people just like you.

MATERIALS

The CPPA Manual: How to Make $150,000 in Private Practice Career Coaching and Still be a Decent Human Being covers A to Z all the details of starting or growing a private practice.

With this practical job and career guide you'll coach them in identifying their skills, focusing on their job and conducting a person-to-person networking campaign. You'll be permitted to “private label” this book with your own business name.

CDs of Live Sales Trainings promotes learning how to set appointments and conduct “counseling-sales” sessions as you listen to live sessions

Recordings of Seminars allow review of these intense learning experiences. In addition to the repeatable seminars, you will receive a recording of all classes you participate in so you can lock in the training.

Sales Aid: Twelve Biggest Mistakes Job Hunters and Career Changers Make and How to Avoid Them is a 34 page booklet that contains hard-hitting information for job hunters and career changers, along with a convincing section on why career coaching is one of the smartest investments they'll ever make. Clients keep this book for many years and use it to refer new prospects to you.

Turn-key Workshop: The Lucrative Job Search can turn a pro bono speech into long-term profitability. You'll receive a recording, outline, transcript, and instructions on how to deliver this captivating workshop. CPPA members can purchase my book, Negotiating Your Salary: How to Make $1000 a Minute, at a 60% discount, so you can turn the book into income for you - or for the nonprofit group you're addressing - by offering it at a mark-up after your presentation.

Website: If you don't have one already, you'll receive a free hosted website which you'll be able to customize with information about your business. It has a professional look and feel.

TRAININGS YOU PARTICIPATE IN

Materials are the foundation of CPPA, and the real power builds on that foundation with Mastermind Teams. All CPPA members participate in a Mastermind Team for mutual support and training in the basics. You'll be in business for yourself, but not by yourself. Your Team will be committed to your success at whatever level you choose.

Mastermind Team Meetings: Your regular Mastermind Team meetings (twice a month) plus individual sessions with your facilitator will keep you consistently working to achieve your goals. You'll learn to handle all the ins-and-outs of running a thriving full- or part-time private practice. You'll set your business goals and then check in on them with your teammates. Your Team facilitator will report directly to me.

Personal Development Plan: In your Team, you'll create your personal development plan. Everything is customized to you as you discern answers to important questions about your practice: How big? How much money? What “satisfiers” do you want/need? How much time? Alone or in partnership? Internet based or in person? What new skills do you want? Etc.
As you develop answers, you'll look for the gaps between where you want to be vs. where you are now. From that viewpoint, you'll create your Personal Development Plan. You can revise it at any time, but for as long as it's relevant to you, your Team will keep you on point with it.

Training Directly With Jack: You will have direct contact with me, too. All members can participate in interactive guided trainings with me in bi-weekly Master TeleClasses. These master classes are in addition to the fundamentals seminars described above, and have preplanned agendas as defined by you. Your needs, questions, ideas, etc., will be treated directly in communication with me. You have all the benefits of my 27 years so instead of learning through trial and error, you can learn through trial and success!

MY BACKGROUND AND HOW I CAME TO START THE ALLIANCE

Many of you know me as the author of Negotiating Your Salary: How to Make $1000 a Minute. I started coaching people in their careers 27 years ago by running an ad in the newspaper and following What Color is Your Parachute. I next worked for an executive career coaching firm, developing the professional skills that would merit charging substantial fees as a private practitioner.

In 1985, the firm I worked for went bankrupt. I mortgaged my house and bought the territory. I was one of 25 territory owners across the country in a 50-year-old national career consulting and outplacement firm. Wow! I was in over my head. I was a good career coach, but I was a mere “apprentice” in the sales/marketing end of the business. Over the next 8 years I learned from my own trial and error, but I had the good fortune to be mentored by the other successful owners on how to run a careers business.

While I was thus occupied, a problem snuck up on me. I now knew how to run a business, but I had ended up in the wrong job for myself. As the owner of an 18-person, 4-office executive career coaching firm, I was spending 90% of my time on my secondary skills (management), and only 10% on my best and most satisfying skills (coaching). I wasn't practicing what I was preaching. While I could function as a career OnStar for others, I had taken a colossal detour. My inner OnStar was flashing red alerts.

Once I realized I had veered off track, I sold the business and returned to private practice. Like an amazing grace, I now was “found” with 90% of my time devoted to coaching. For peer support and supervision, I began networking with other career coaches. It was then that I made an important discovery.

I found many advisors whose talents and dedication did not necessarily generate prosperity in their private practices. They were struggling to get beyond mere survival. They needed to learn the marketing and sales techniques I had acquired as a manager, and they needed to learn the way I did: using counseling skills, not sales skills.

One by one, then, I coached many career advisors. I have enabled make-ends-meet practices to blossom into thriving 6-figure private practices. Not only did these practitioners earn well, but their love of the work grew, too.

TESTIMONIAL: SUE

An example is Sue Ekberg, who has given permission to use her testimony. She writes, “Before working with you, Jack, I was an employee, Director of a university career center. Using your coaching I am now in my 7th year of being self-employed. Your comprehensive system enabled me to keep working with clients through their discouraging times. Very satisfying. (I used to lose them at that point.) And in my very first year self-employed, I made more than my previous salary, and now I'm almost earning double! Thanks, Jack.”

TESTIMONIAL: DAVID

Another example is David Hults, formerly a corporate H.R. professional, who has given permission to use his testimony. He writes, "I am practicing what I preach: I am working with the best instead of trial and error. In a short time I met my goals. I know people who started at the same time I did, and I am light years ahead of them. I make more now than I did in my corporate job."

TESTIMONIAL: MARY FRAN

Another example is Mary Frances Fox who has given permission to use her testimony. She writes, “Before I started working with you, Jack, career coaching was always a side-income. And by following your system I was able to quit my other job after 4 months. From there, I grew to a small business with three people: myself, an admininstrator, a colleague to help with the counseling.”

TESTIMONIAL: PETER

Another example is Peter Miller, formerly a corporate outplacement professional, who has given permission to use his testimony. He writes, "I think of myself as a marketing savvy person, but marketing yourself is different from marketing a product. You gave me all the structure and 'how-to' I needed. Plus the interaction with the other team members made it not only informative and strategic, but fun and motivating."

My fees for this intensive coaching grew to $10,000 - $20,000, and my clients reaped the benefits of an income that reimbursed them many times over. However, I wanted a way to reach more people in a way that is affordable and available to all levels of career coaches. The result is the Chapman Private Practice Alliance.

PRICING AND CHARTER MEMBERSHIP

CHARTER MEMBERS: Over time, CPPA enrollment will grow and we'll charge full fare, but I want to launch a healthy alliance with those who share my dream and enthusiasm. Therefore, I have an incentive called CHARTER MEMBERSHIP for anyone who enrolls before Feb 28, 2007.

The fee for Charter Members is $250/month, or half of the regular fee.

I believe a minimum of 15 people is necessary to achieve the excitement and synergy that I envision for CPPA. I am therefore offering another incentive bonus to the first fifteen accepted applicants. You will be “GOLD CHARTER MEMBERS” and I have arranged some special incentives for you.

GOLD CHARTER MEMBERS will receive a further price break plus a special workshop, “How to Jump Into Private Practice without Breaking a Leg.” You'll listen in as I coach several career advisors on exactly what they need to do to get from square one (where they are) to square two (a step closer to where they'd like to be) in their businesses. Then you'll have a FREE “How to Jump…” with me as an added bonus. It will help you set your Personal Development Plan.

THE GOLD CHARTER MEMBERS fee is only $175/month.

I hope the GOLD CHARTER MEMBERSHIP is irresistible. You must act quickly to be one of the first fifteen.
